LUCKY ESCAPE FOR DUIKER

LILONGWE WILDLIFE CENTRE NEWS: An injured adult duiker has just arrived on our doorstep… It was reportedly being chased around the streets, most likely in order to be killed for meat. Fortunately, seeing what was happening, somebody allowed it to run into their gate, caught it and brought it in to us. Not surprisingly it arrived highly stressed, but was left in the hands of our on-site vet who did what she could to make the animal as comfortable as possible and check for any serious injuries. Thankfully, nothing serious was found and it was released after a little rest here; this duiker seems to have had a very lucky escape!
