- ♫♪♪♫ I am Gospel Kazako. I wish to make you aware about protecting wildlife. All wild animals must be protected because they were created for a purpose. President Arthur Peter Mutharika recently signed and approved the new amended National Parks and Wildlife Act. Therefore all Malawians must understand the penalties that offenders against this amended law will get. Anyone found hunting or killing any listed species like elephant or rhino will be convicted and sentenced to serve in jail for 30 years (or will be given a 30 years custodial sentence), without option of fine. Even those found assisting in hunting or killing of the listed species will be sentenced to 30 years imprisonment with no option of fine. Anyone found trading or offering for sale any part of any listed species will be sentenced to 30 years imprisonment. Anyone found transporting elephant ivory or rhino horn, in any way, even by plane or sending py post office or any other way, will be sentenced to 30 years imprisonment with hard labour. Please remember that there is no option of fine in these offences. Avoid committing these crimes to avoid being sent to jail where you will languish while your children families and friends will be in problems and miss you.
Please do not commit wildlife crime. ♫♪♪♫.
- ♫♪♪♫ if anyone is found killing animals in any protected area, arrest and prison will be your friend for 30 years. 30 years in prison! It is a very serious offence to commit wildlife crime. Killing animals like elephant, rhino, leopard, lion, pangolin and other endangered spp according to thr laws of Malawi is a serious offence.
