USIKU UPDATE

Here are a few recent shots of hyaena, Usiku. He was rescued after being rejected by his mother as a newborn back  in April 2015, was rehabilitated and taken to Kasungu NP ready for release back into the wild in May 2016. Sadly, for various reasons, this was not to be and it was with a heavy heart that we be moved him back to the Wildlife Centre a year ago. He’s housed in a large enclosure with human interaction limited to just two people and he gets plenty of enrichment but we’re still keen to find another solution for him either back in the wild or at the very least with a companion – hyaenas are highly sociable animals.
