Last month, Silver Strikers and TN Stars football teams visited Kasungu National Park to learn more about the wildlife conservation work being done in the protected area.
The football stars learned about the problems of poaching and snaring and the vital work of the park’s rangers in protecting the animals. After watching two pedal power cinema films about wildlife conservation, the players lined up to pledge their support to protect Malawi’s wildlife.
The successful day finished with a friendly (ish!) match between TN Stars and Kasungu’s rangers, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
The trip was made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the terms of its Cooperative Agreement Number AID-674-A-170005 (Combating Wildlife Crime (CWC) in the Zambia-Malawi transboundary landscape) implemented by prime recipient IFAW and Lilongwe Wildlife Trust
