Just over a week left until World Wildlife Day and we’re making as much noise as possible to highlight Malawi’s cause. Our ‘Stop Wildlife Crime. Protect Malawi’s Wildlife’ campaign was launched on the first ever World Wildlife Day last year and so much has happened since then. An assessment has been completed illegal wildlife trade in Malawi.  An interagency committee has been set up to drive intelligence and inter agency cooperation. Record prison sentences have been passed for wildlife crimes. An inventory of the ivory has been completed. Hundreds have marched and thousands have signed the petition to say NO to ivory.
Big decisions are being made by the government as we write, from changes in the law to whether ivory stockpiles should be burnt. We’re reigniting our petition from October to keep up the pressure and add to all the other great work being done behind the scenes. Help us to show that the world is watching. Sign the petition if you haven’t already and share far and wide with family and friends. Every little helps, thanks for your support!
