This little jackal was seen in the gardens of State House, in a pipe and looking very sheepish and weak. State House guards called the Department of National Parks & Wildlife (DNPW), who brought her straight to us. Though very fragile when she came in, we have been feeding her a variety of foods to get her strength up and it’s definitely working as she has been gaining a lot of weight. Working together with Carnivore Research Malawi, we are doing what we can for her and we’re optimistic she will be able to be released back into the wild in the near future. She’s a shy character but absolutely beautiful….look at those eyes!
