LILONGWE WILDLIFE CENTRE NEWS: This young duiker, Arne, was handed over to us this week by a concerned household. Their guard had brought him in to their garden to then sell on as meat and upon discovering this the residents immediately took action and brought him to us to look after. They have since spoken to the guard to let him know that it is in fact illegal to keep/kill/buy/sell/eat any wild animal in Malawi and he has vowed never to do so again. A valuable lesson we hope he will pass on.

Duikers are notoriously difficult to hand rear but this little one is doing extremely well so far and bottle feeding has gone smoothly. Things are certainly looking up for Arne!
